Blade Runner 2049 review

I haven't seen the original Blade Runner. I own the movie, I just need to make time for it. So, going into Blade Runner 2049 had me on edge out of the fear of me potentially not understanding the new film at all, but after watching it, I will say that viewing the original (although maybe a good idea if you desire to have a more in depth understanding of the Blade Runner universe) is not essential to have an enjoyable experience. This movie came out back in September, but I just recently got around to seeing it. My deepest regret after seeing the movie is that I didn't pay the full theater price and instead went to a local dollar theater. No other theater was playing it, however, I am glad I finally saw it. I feel incredibly heartbroken that only 2 dollars of mine are going towards the movie. I would've payed 20 dollars.
Image result for blade runner 2049          There could not have been a more perfect director than Denis Villenueve himself. This film is wonderful, deep, and, most importantly, visually stunning. Roger Deakins cinematography is absolutely breathtaking. Villenueve showcases one of the best examples and efforts of world building in his new film. The production design, costumes, and CGI are all contributing factors into making this world feel real.
The performances are excellent all around with my favorites being that of Ryan Gosling and Jared Leto.
I can't exactly talk about the movie without fear of potentially ruining your experience so I wont say anything about story, character traits, etc. Go see the film while its still playing in theaters, which is only 1 in my area unfortunately. 10/10
